The carbon figure on each plan is what a full month at the quota amounts to at the medium tier, so you can see the footprint a plan covers, not just the tokens.
Paid plans retire verified credits that Crbon Labs originates, against the footprint you measured. The measured figure is reported unchanged beside the receipt, so an auditor sees both.

Billable tokens are uncached input, cache creation and output tokens. Cached reads are excluded, because serving a token from cache costs almost no compute. The quota is measured over a monthly billing period, and the dashboard shows where you stand against it.
Nothing stops. Usage keeps being metered, and at the end of the period the excess is billed at the plan’s overage rate: $5 per million tokens on Starter, $3 on Growth and $2 on Scale, rounded up to the cent. The rate is recorded on the charge when the period closes, so a later rate change never touches a billed period.
Yes. CrbonFree is available through AWS Marketplace for teams that want the subscription on their AWS bill and through their existing procurement. Enterprise agreements above the Scale quota are custom, with contracted terms rather than metered overage.
Retirement is part of the paid plans, and it never changes the measured footprint. Crbon Labs originates its own verified credits and retires them against your number, with a signed receipt listing the serial numbers on the American Carbon Registry or the BCarbon Registry.
